Can I get my rabbit a companion?

I have a four/five month old mini-lop, got him in April and I worry that he's getting lonely and I was wondering if it was okay for rabbits to share, or if he's been alone for too long to accept another one. I'm interested in getting a lionhead, I don't know whether the breed and/or gender matter.

The breeder I got him from had him in a hutch with his mum and another male that came from the same litter, incase that also matters. Can I get my rabbit a companion?
guinee pigs also make great companions , same care food etc !Can I get my rabbit a companion?
Rabbits are very, very hard to put together after being alone for a length of time, and they actually prefer to be in netured/spayed male and female pairings. Lionheads tend to be more aggressive, just to warn you, and therefore may not take to another rabbit.

My best advise? Get a female, get her spayed (getting a female spayed lowers the risk of various cancers) and then get him neutured. Introduce them using two different cages or one cage split in half- google split cage method- and take it from there.

Do NOT get a guinea pig, despite what people on here tell you. Injury and illness occur frequently between rabbits and guineas living together, and they both require different food and care. Please don't mix them, it will only end in vet bills and misery.
You can get another rabbit for him and i would go back to the breeder you brought him from as he/she can help with the meeting process you cant just put another rabbit in and expect then to get along it will take weeks, and then end result will be 2 happy companion rabbits! A lionhead would live fine with a mini lop, DONT GET ANOTHER MALE they WILL fight!! Get a female and have HIM neutered! You can get all this info from your breeder though!

One other thing dont get a guinea pig as the rabbit will pick on him/her because of dominance and Territorial!

Good luck!
DON'T put a guinea pig in with him. They have different dietary needs and when the rabbit kicks it could injure the guinea pig.

Two male rabbits usually fight unless they have always been together. Get a female to keep him company and get him neutered.
yeah get him a friend he'll be happier. make sure you get him neutered beforehand though, it doesnt matter what sex his new friend will be, it just means they will get on better. and of course get the new one neutered too
i have a lion head male and a mini lop female in sepertate cages. they have had 3 loverly bunnies ........

if u want to keep um in the same cage get another male they will b fine
