How long does my rabbit need to be out of the cage? Any tips for interacting with them?

depends on how big your cage is really... and the breed of bunny (size in relation to the cage) ours had an outdoor 10x8 ft cage so she didnt need a lot of time out of it.. that was for the summer only..

in the winter her pen was 3ft x 4 ft.. (not a cage but a fenced in area in the basement) she needed to be out 3-6 times a week for about 1-2 hours at a time - often longer...

you can get them leash and harness and take outside in your yard ONLY if you dont use chemical sprays on lawn or plants..

My rabbit has his own room so he doesn't really need as much exercise out time as a rabbit in a cage.

But when I first got him he had a cage and was generally out for between 6 and 8 hours depending on the day sometimes all at once sometimes broken up throughout the day.

I just let mine explore if he wants pets he comes up and nudges me so we sit on the couch and I pet him til he is ready to do something else. How long does my rabbit need to be out of the cage? Any tips for interacting with them?
ours stays out for about 3 hours at a time all day--she has a spot on couch thats hers-we have a neat sheet tucked in in case she cant hold it. get cheerios-give it one from ur hand n pet it.

ours has a bowl n she does tricks now to get 1. pet it-hold it etcccc give it treats from ur hand.

ours is a lover-she gives kisses all over :)

she loves grapes -we give her 1 when we put her in the cage so its not a ''bad'' place--she gets a small veggie buffet in a.m. n p.m. they love when u rub the side of their head with ur finger-their ear goes up n they put their head down close their eyes--sooo cute. now my other rabbit b4 her was a pain! i hated her-she peed n pooed everywhere-we gave her to the rabbit raiser across town. the one we have now is a dwarf-we rescued her from pricks who broke her legs-ribs etc n she had no fur n was starved--no she a puff ball who loves being held.
I think they are supposed to get 2 hours of exercise a day. Maybe http://rabbit.org has actual numbers.
