My male rabbit is spayed but he still tries to mate with the uspayed female rabbit. How do i stop him??

Your male rabbit is neutered. The scent your female rabbit is enough to get him going, if she is in season. My male rabbit is spayed but he still tries to mate with the uspayed female rabbit. How do i stop him??
I've kept rabbits for going on ten years now, and they've all been neutered and spayed. Even when both rabbits in a pair are fixed, the male will try to mate with the female (evidently humans aren't the only ones who enjoy sex for sex). There's no real way to stop it, but there's also not really any problem with it. If it offends your sensibilities, maybe rabbits aren't the pet for you.

You could try training the rabbit not to mount the female, by squirting him in the face with a water bottle every time he mounts her. I'm really not sure how effective that'll be, though; mating is perhaps the strongest of biological urges.

Console yourself, though, with the fact that as the rabbits get older, their sex drives will decrease--even after the age of six or seven, they attempt it much less often.

Remember, we don't call it ';humping like rabbits'; for nothing. My male rabbit is spayed but he still tries to mate with the uspayed female rabbit. How do i stop him??
Hey, you got some decent ideas in your answers, but it is not all about sex. You should know that about 80% of unspayed rabbits get at least one kind of cancer by age 6. It is not uncommon for females as young as age 2 to have cancer if not spayed; probably why breeders dont keep them much longer than that, or have them living a long time...takes a good vet, and a good owner to keep them happy and healthy into their teen years.

When they are humping, this might be ok, if both are agreeable, but it can end up in big vet expense if one gets bit (quite often ends up in an abscess type wound-very hard and epensive to treat) and even the stress can cause damage as far as the less dominant one might stop eating and stuff. As I said, not all humping is about sex, some is boredom, some is excitement ...there are lots of people that think it is a domination thing, but I doubt it is that simple: people tend to like easy canned answers, specially on these lists. Why not have a look into some more references, and see what might help your situation?

Have her spayed; she will be a far healthier, happier bun as a result.
Have your female spayed. It will be a healthier choice for her, and it should make her less attractive for the male.
It doesnt matter if he's spayed boys will be boys. just let him have his fun.
he is tring to show he is domminant it doesnt mean anything more than that.
I don't think you can stop him.
