Why does my rabbit shed tons of excess fur all year around?

My pet rabbit sheds ALL the time. You can even gently pull out the puffs of fur that stick out. He's not going bald or anything (in fact, he has tons of fur), but I was just wondering if anyone knows why he is shedding so much! Why does my rabbit shed tons of excess fur all year around?
If your rabbit indoor kept, he will shed year round. I have a short haired rabbit and just rescued a long haired one (now shaved due to former owner letting him grossly mat). You need to brush your rabbit several times a week, daily is better though especially if long haired. My indoor only cats even shed year round whereas my ones that are both indoor/outdoor shed a lot less, just like a indoor verses outdoor kept rabbit will. Use a comb and a brush meant for cats or small dogs, they work the best. Keep scissors nearby if you can't get a tangle out. From this rabbit not being groomed for a very long time, it took my daughter 3 hours just to cut the mats off and the vet 1/2 hour to shave off what she couldn't get. These people thought they had a gray Angora/Lop Eared mix, well they had a Dalmatian Angora/Lop Eared mix instead. Why does my rabbit shed tons of excess fur all year around?
its normal and good . mine lived to be 12
if long haired than just needs brushed more
Rabbits and cats and other animals shed a lot. they shed cause it means that they are getting new fur and or cause they are getting old. My cat sheds a lot cause he is getting old. OK
